We are Karin van den Berg and Susanne Valentijn, a clinical psychologist (Karin) and clinical neuropsychologist (Susanne). Both of us have extensive experience in specialised mental health care (GGZ) and medical psychology. Our practice started in September 2022 on the NRE site in a beautiful new building at Gashouder 34 in Eindhoven.
We aim to provide psychological treatment in a way that suits us and, hopefully, resonates with you! We enjoy collaborating with you during sessions, and jointly deciding on the course of treatment.
Our focus is on diagnosing and treating psychological and psychiatric issues in adults and seniors. We offer both short-term and long-term programs within specialised bespoke but evidence based mental health protocols.
Currently, our waiting time is: 12-14 weken

If you are considering treatment with us, you can register by leaving a message on the phone number 0645318880. After receiving your message, we will contact you within 5 working days to schedule an exploratory conversation. You can also email us at [email protected]
You can turn to us for the following issues and problems: amongst others, complaints related to illness or physical issues, cognitive complaints, trauma-related issues (PTSD), anxiety issues (such as panic, OCD etc.), mood problems, and personality problems or a combination of the above.
When you need crisis interventions, Practice V. may be less suitable, and it's advisable to seek assistance from a mental health care institution, as they have specific protocols and teams for crises.
In the absence of one, Karin and Susanne cover for each other.
We provide psychological assessment (personality, Attention deficit problems, autism spectrum problems) but also specialised neuropsychological assessment and treatments. This involves an exploration for explanations of cognitive or emotional complaints.
When you undergo psychotherapy or specialised psychological treatment with us, we collaboratively select the most suitable treatment for your issues. It is important to us that we use treatments, methods, and techniques that are evidence based, supportive and effective. In Practice V., Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, Schema Therapy, and ACT are offered. Sometimes, a therapy may involve a combination of these treatments, methods, and techniques. We also embrace innovative approaches to treatment and use online modules to support our interventions where possible.
Your treatment at Practice V. is fully or partially reimbursed through the basic package of your health insurance if you have a valid referral (for specialised mental health care) from your general practitioner, occupational health physician, or medical specialist.
Colleagues undergoing training to become Health Psychologists (GZ psychologist), specialists (training to become a clinical (neuro) psychologist), or psychiatrists can also come to us for supervision on assessment or interventions (or both). We also offer research supervision.
We are involved in several research projects. Karin is co-promotor (supervisor) in two PhD programs (at Tilburg University and Maastricht University), gives research supervision to trainee clinical psychologist and collaborates with collegues at GGzE conducting research studies in Team Bipolar disorders. In 2024 Praktijk V. will collaborate with Amsterdam University in the Profit study on using imagery techniques in the treatment of depression.
We have been dreaming for a while about our own practice, which we have affectionately referred to as the "Coffee & Happiness" practice for a long time. This symbolises a pleasant space with ample room and light, creating a good atmosphere. It's a place where you can come for a good conversation, enjoy a nice cup of coffee (or something else), and hopefully find a bit more happiness. For our clients and for us.
Practice V. has become that place!
You are welcome for therapy sessions in English in case Dutch is not your first language. We are both proficient in English, and sensitive to culture and background. Karin has worked in the United Kingdom for 10 years as a clinical psychologist, finished her clinical training in the United Kingdom, and is registered with the British Psychological Society as a Chartered Clinical psychologist. Moreover, she is a near native English speaker.
